Rocks

I shot this image looking down on a river from a bridge. I used a tripod and a long exposure of 3 seconds.  This was photographed in Northern Wisconsin.

To emphasize the texture of the rocks in contrast with the smooth water, I processed the image as a black and white.  You notice textures more when your eyes don't have to be distracted with color.

Want to take a more interesting photograph?  Look for contrasting subjects.  Here the smooth water and the rugged rocks provide just that.
